Department Overview Project Accounting is a function within the MSI Finance Operations Center in Penang. MSI Finance Operations Centre is recognized as trusted partner to customers, suppliers and employees providing excellent service and quality support. Our department supports wide range of Motorola Solutions businesses and operations finance functions across APAC. We are responsible on all related business accounting and compliance reporting and making sure we provide great level of support to our business partners within APAC in all finance areas.

  • To support Country Finance monthly closing activities ensuring process accuracy and detail analysis of Profit and Loss account and Balance Sheet
  • To support & Review quarterly and month end reports for - Backlog, Order and Sales, Cashflow, Field Inventory and Unbill
  • To provide finance support to the Sales team in preparation of Yearly Plan, Quarterly Forecast and Outlook and Bridging of Actual to Forecast scenarios
  • Working with business partners to drive better operating efficiency in the country business.
  • Driving financial rigor (cost control, risks evaluation, revenue recognition) in project implementations
  • Oversee revenue recognition for systems deals
  • Perform monthly closing activities ensuring process accuracy and detail analysis of Profit and Loss account and Balance Sheet
  • Monthly preparation of Accounts Reconciliations and support of quarterly AOR ( Accounting Operation Review)
  • Partner with ARM to build collection Forecast and ensure Forecast accuracy
  • Support entity owner on audit request, Review local entity audit and closure

Basic Requirements
  • Degree in accounting, finance or equivalent from leading universities
  • Professional qualification of internationally recognized organization (i.e. CIMA, ACCA, CPA) is an advantage
  • 3-5 years working experience preferably in established Audit Firms or Multinational Companies
  • Excellent knowledge of General Ledger Accounting
  • Self-motivated, assertive and results driven with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to influence Finance and non-Finance staff
  • Very strong Communication, Interpersonal, Analytical, Influencing & Problem Solving Skills
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate activities across many organizations
  • Proficient in MS Excel with basic knowledge in other MS applications
  • Knowledge in Oracle a plus
  • Excellent English written and spoken is a must
