Job Title Analyst, Securities Data (Client & Data Management Group)
What is the opportunity?
The Securities Data Services group within the wider BCS group is responsible for the management of the organization\'s securities reference data repository and the management of the security reference data within a number of key application used throughout RBC.
Region: APAC
Working hours: 3 shifts required are:
7.30am \xe2\x80\x93 4.30pm
8.00am \xe2\x80\x93 5.00pm
9.00am \xe2\x80\x93 6.00pm
(To cover shifts starting 7.30am to 6.00pm Malaysia time. Bank holiday cover will also be required)
What will you do?
Support the timely creation and maintenance of all security data whilst maintaining the integrity of the data at all times.
Update Structured products in Bloomberg.
Manage product classifications and JRR classifications.
Support Australian and Japan Offices with security reference data requests.
Provide handover at end of day to facilitate a follow the sun model.
Continuous improvement, in conjunction with the SDS team, to processes, procedures resulting in increased efficiencies and service deliverables.
Manage the integrity of the database by ensuring consistency and controls are maintained at all times.
Develop and document operations controls and work processes.
Provide support and testing for system releases/enhancements.
Identify root causes of data problems and implement process improvement initiatives.
Daily completion of reconciliations between key applications. Review and liase with necessary parties to resolve breaks on a timely basis.
Keep abreast of industry best practices and the regulatory environment and emerging tools and standards.
Driving data standards, policies and processes as they relate to compliance, regulatory and security considerations.
Provide subject matter expertise within the Security reference data space to internal clients and development groups
Assist with the production of weekly MI reporting to provide analysis for senior management.
Keep up to date with industry standards and operational processes.
Maintain a strong understanding of instruments (equities, fixed income, and derivatives) and products and associated data items and structures.
Management of SRDR exceptions to support BAU.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
MBA/University Degree and/or relevant professional training.
Minimum of 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the use of reference data across different product types (fixed income, equity, derivatives, currency & commodities) within an established financial institution, investment bank or fund managed organisation.
Solid understanding of capital market trading applications and its need for securities reference data.
Firm understanding of how capital markets operate.
Experience with the use of Bloomberg and Reuters data (pricing, corporate actions, reference data, API).
Advanced problem solving, analytical and decision-making skill.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
The ability to work well between multiple departments and with all level of associates.
Ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organise and prioritise work.
Proactive approach to knowledge sharing.
