Job Description


POSITION SUMMARY:
The manager of Application Management will be responsible for all applications, platforms, and integration for quality delivery and production support SLA.

  • Mastermind of all applications, on functional and nonfunctional delivery, that includes the design of integration, transaction flows, and requirements from Business Requirement Documents.
  • Responsible for the team to support production adhering to SLA, no room for recurring defects, and attending to a service request within SLA.
  • People management to a team with development and production support, leverage with team skillset, knowledge, and experiences. Proactively align, prioritize, and level requests and resources in peak periods.
  • Extended responsibility to ensure all infrastructure and network, and security to support new initiatives and projects, as a single point of contact for all application-related projects and initiatives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops and maintains application strategy, with the Head of Information Technology.
  • Takes a leadership role in all application implementation, enhancement, and integration projects.
  • Develops and maintains expertise in primary application software platforms (JDE, GIS, SAP GL, etc.)
  • Works with department managers to determine the need for improvements or new application functionality.
  • Works with Application Project Managers, both internal and external, to ensure that software development projects are planned and executed appropriately, on time, and within budget.
  • Works with the Infrastructure/Service team to ensure hardware, network, and server impacts are coordinated for project delivery; and to ensure appropriate Help Desk support for the application\'s first-level support.
  • Ensure that applications are in compliance with security and work in the environment prior to implementation in production.
  • Selects and manages outside service providers, with the Head of Information Technology.
  • Perform periodic risk assessments and initiate risk control strategies.
  • Review completed tasks to ascertain compliance with standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND MINIMUM EXPECTATIONS:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree, preferably in Information Technology (IT), Business, or Finance-related disciplines.
  • Minimum 8-10 years experience in the insurance industry.
  • IT Management and Development background experience are preferred.
  • Knowledge of General Insurance and Re-Insurance business models is added advantage

Other requirements:
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills to build roadmaps toward Service delivery optimization.
  • Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and in a team.
  • Proactive and resourceful in carrying out activities to achieve objectives.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English.
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
