GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB POSITION The Assistant Director of Nursing oversees the overall nursing operations of the hospital. Duties include evaluating and directing all nursing employees, establishing goals for the nursing department and creating and enforcing compliant healthcare policies. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities of an Assistant Director of Nursing include: Effective leadership in translating institutional and divisional mission, policy and goals to all nursing staff Supervise Nurse Managers, Supervisors and staff to align with company\'s goals and objectives Oversee departmental budgets Report to the Director of Nursing in managing the daily operational issues of Nursing department Conduct periodic rounds with nurse managers to evaluate and monitor quality of care, legal responsibility and risk management practices Maintain high standards of care for all patients Manage patients\' data and medical records as confidential records Communicate with doctors, patients and family members about patients\' health Recruit, train and onboard new nursing staff Implement new policies and procedures to improve nursing care JOB QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS Bachelor or Master in Nursing with a minimum of 10 years\' working experience in a Nursing Managerial role Registered with the Malaysian Nursing Council with a valid practicing license. Demonstrated comprehensive nursing knowledge and skills with experience in leading, mentoring and bedside nursing. Good leadership, interpersonal, planning, organizing, good critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills. Knowledge in healthcare systems and computer skills that enable preparation of vital statistics, presentations and reports.
