Job Summary

Assists the Executive Housekeeper with the planning, organization and supervision of the cleaning and maintenance of the floors. Specific responsibilities include guest rooms, corridors, pantries, floor service areas and fire escape stairs.

Duties

• Manages and coordinates daily housekeeping operations.
• Manages supervisors and employees performing a variety of cleaning duties to ensure buildings remain clean and free of safety hazards.
• Ensures services are cost efficient and complied with the contract terms; maintains records of all work performed.
• Cultivates professional relationships with guests and ensures services are being performed in accordance with the housekeeping contract.
• Ensures compliance to Shangri-La Group\'s minimum quality and service standards of guest rooms.
• Oversees janitorial budgets, supplies, and equipment purchasing and repairs.
• Organizes, assigns, and coordinates workloads; leads assigned employees and contract vendors to perform custodial services.
• Completes \xe2\x80\x9cGuest rooms Cleanliness Inspection Program\xe2\x80\x9d according to the Balanced Scorecard and audit requirements.
• Motivates housekeeping team through training, counselling, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Provides necessary skills & knowledge training to the housekeeping team to uplift the quality and level of staying experiences of the guests.
• Handles guests\' complaints or dissatisfaction and provides necessary service recovery to delight guests.
• Minimizes issues and safety risks by prioritizing tasks and ensures adherence to procedures, regulations, and guidelines.
• Ensures all interactions with guests are handled professionally and with care adhering to hotel\'s policies and procedures.
• Ensures regular preventive maintenance and general cleaning are carried out in the rooms and corridors.
• Supervises daily room assignments. Inspects all VIP rooms, guest floors, floor pantries and other areas daily.
• Ensures the highest level of safety and security by facilitating effective training programmes that delivers a high degree of awareness amongst staff.
• Personally conducts training as required and on a regular basis.
• Monitors the implementation and progress of various training programmers on their effectiveness.

• Certificate/ Diploma in Hotel Management or related field is preferred.
• Preferably with 2-3 years\' working experience in a similar role.
• Communicates with fluency in English (and local language).
• Independent, good interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Due to work permit restrictions, only citizens of Malaysia and Permanent Residents of Malaysia shall be considered.
