BASF Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, established in 1997, provides infrastructure and utilities support services to BASF sites in Malaysia. Objectives of the Position This position will drive all the activities relating to the regional product safety and stewardship in Asia Pacific region engaging with R&D, production, sales, marketing, product managers and country experts. Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities Product Stewardship Conduct proactive product stewardship activities to the business, such as implement early warning. Ensure customers are adequately informed with correct Safety data Sheet (SDS) of products. Socializes or assists R & D, plant/production, sales/marketing, and product managers in the region on product stewardship topics. Forging excellent collaboration among stakeholders to ensure legal compliance and create value to business. Issuing guideline(s) or procedure(s) related to product safety and stewardship activities in Asia Pacific region. Monitor and respond inquiries from stakeholders in a proper way. Product Safety Ensure the compliance of chemical legislation for manufacturing and marketing of products in Asia Pacific. Compile and release safety data sheets (SDS) of products Determine the classification and labelling of products Monitor and assess any change of product composition and/or product description and inform the relevant stakeholders Initiate and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance Provide guidance and consultation to plant/production, R&D, product managers in the region for the execution of the product safety and Master Data. Requirements Edu c a t i o n Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent W o r k in g Experience 2 years or more of relevant working experience in chemical regulations and/or Product Safety & Stewardship. T e c hn i c a l & Professional Knowledge Fluent in written and spoken English. Prior knowledge of SAP system or relevant experience to utilize in Product Safety area. Proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Excel, Share Point, Power BI). Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of chemical regulations (e.g. chemical inventory) in Asia.
