Global Service & Parts (GSP) is responsible for the worldwide Service & Parts business of the Mercedes-Benz Group.

The newly established entity, Mercedes-Benz Parts Logistics Asia Pacific, will be part of the global Mercedes-Benz Group After-Sales supply chain network, covering the regional distribution hub, regional Asia Pacific functions and the center of competence supply chain steering Asia Pacific. The future Regional Logistics Centre is currently under construction and will start operations in 2023. The future Regional Logistics Centre (RLC) in Senai (Johor Bahru) will be a key facility in the global GSP Parts Logistics Network and will serve as a distribution site for spare parts to 24 countries in the Asia Pacific region. It will take care of the importation, the storage as well as the regional management of spare part and accessories distribution.

Your tasks & responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for transportation, including RFQ planning, negotiation, and award considerations.
  • Collaborate closely with key contacts at service providers to ensure seamless logistical transportation.
  • Apply your expertise in customs laws, regulations, importation, exportation, and transhipment clearance processes to ensure compliance.
  • Monitor and improve transportation performance through regular performance reviews and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate provision of information to forwarders for customs declaration.
  • Process, monitor, and update inbound information, cost settlements, and KPI performance reports.
  • Liaise with customers and stakeholders to address transportation-related issues.
  • Rectify and reduce discrepancies in freight estimation and manage debit/credit note processing.
  • Monitor and verify transport costs, resolve disputes, and recommend cost-saving solutions.
  • Administer shipping documents, distribute them to relevant parties, and maintain records and archives.
  • Support the Customs Team Lead in cargo inspection, certification approval arrangements, and document preparation.
  • Collaborate with the Treasury team on LC requirements and document verification.
  • Attend meetings with 3PL Warehouse & WM team and service providers to review performance and activities.
  • Develop and execute improvement programs and incentive initiatives.
  • Respond to customer queries, feedback, and special requirements in a timely manner.
  • Maintain KPI expectations and ensure customer satisfaction while adhering to compliance processes.
  • Communicate operational announcements and transport information to authorities, markets, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and distribute accurate and thorough transport reports and KPI cost reports.
  • Assist with transportation tenders and ad-hoc projects by analyzing data and preparing reports.
  • Keep the Team Manager informed of any transportation abnormalities and maintain records/files.
Job Requirements:
  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Logistics related discipline.
  • Min 3-5 years related working experience in Automotive Parts business.
  • Min 3-5 years in the Aftersales or Parts Logistics business, Spare parts consulting and/or specialist.
  • Experience in Air, Sea and Road transportation operations and transportation tenders.
  • Experience in Customer Relationship Management.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong capability in verbal and written command of English across a geographical dispersed audience.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the laws, regulations and guidelines of transporting Dangerous Goods via Air, Sea and Road transport across borders and Free Trade Zone Operations.
  • Excellent computer skills especially in MS Office - Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Added advantage to possess SAP knowledge in TM, ECC, CRM, SCM modules.
