Job Description

Job Summary:



The Assistant Operations Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the resort to ensure outstanding guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and high service standards. This role is hands-on and requires a strong presence across all departments, particularly Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Maintenance, and Security.

Key Responsibilities:



Operational Excellence



Support the RMM in overseeing all resort operations. Monitor daily resort activities to ensure smooth operations. Coordinate between departments to enhance guest experience and operational efficiency. Conduct regular walk-throughs to ensure resort cleanliness, safety, and brand standards.

Guest Services



Ensure exceptional guest service and respond to complaints or issues promptly. Maintain strong relationships with VIP guests and repeat clients. Handle escalated guest issues with professionalism and empathy.

Staff Management



Supervise and support departmental managers and team leaders. Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff. Monitor staff performance and provide coaching or disciplinary actions when necessary. Ensure departments are adequately staffed based on occupancy and events.

Financial Oversight



Assist with budgeting, cost control, and inventory management. Monitor departmental expenditures and drive cost-effective strategies. Analyse revenue and expense reports to identify opportunities for improvement.

Health, Safety & Compliance



Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and local regulations. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments. Coordinate emergency response protocols and staff safety training.

Event & Activity Coordination



Collaborate with the events and recreation teams to execute beachside and resort activities. Support operations for weddings, conferences, and other large functions.

Requirements:



Education & Experience



Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in hospitality operations, preferably in a 4 or 5-star resort. Experience in beachfront or luxury resort settings is a strong advantage.

Skills & Competencies



Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. High level of organization and attention to detail. Proficiency in property management systems (e.g. POS & IDB). Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia, English; additional languages are a plus.

Personal Attributes



Energetic, proactive, and guest-focused. Flexible and willing to work weekends, holidays, and shifts as needed. Culturally sensitive and able to work in a diverse environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From RM5,000.00 per month
