Assistant Operations Manager

Our team in Shah Alam currently has an opening for a Assistant Operations Manager

YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning, production, warehousing and logistics operations
- Plan bulk vessels deliveries by ensuring shore tanks are ready for storage
- Manage the 3rd party drumming service provider to ensure smooth and safe production and finish the production on time and in full, and that any challenges meeting this expectation are communicated proactively
- Manage 3rd party logistics bulk logistics provider for delivery to customers and also to 3rd party drumming service provider
- Ensure all inventory are accounted in 3rd party tanks, warehouses and deliveries are completed on time and in full to customers. Any deviation needs to be reported in a timely manner
- Ensure all internal and external customer enquiries are handled in an efficient, professional and timely manner
- Support on the new project development from commercial team with cost effective business solution
Provide other assistance to senior management and Commercial teams as required
- Perform and/or direct day to day administrative tasks
- Lead the team on the internal and customer audits from operations perspective * Leadership

Lead, manage and develop a team of operations
- Set and achieve ambitious performance goals
- Build an exceptional customer service led culture
- Maintain and improve operations and processes with lean method
- Work jointly with other functions within the Brenntag business to achieve on-going success
- Develop processes to identify potential problems and resolve them expeditiously and efficiently
- Ensure monthly operation reporting is provided to management
  • General
- Planning the division budget and follow up closely during the execution stage.
- Ensure all analysis and development communications are handled in an efficient and timely manner
- Ensure all business activities are conducted according to the work instructions
- Participate in the performance, planning & review process and monitor performance against set KPIs to ensure targets and effective work outcomes are achieved
- Perform such other duties and activities which may be assigned to you from time to time
- Motivating and supervising employees with team spirits.
- Evaluating the performance of your assigned employees, delivering positive and/or negative feedback, and addressing any shortcomings. * Compliance

QSHE:
- Maintain sound knowledge of relevant requirements and regulations covering products being submitted for master data and subsequent inventory management
- Adhere to the Company\'s \xe2\x80\x9cSafety First\xe2\x80\x9d culture ensuring the highest safety standards are always maintained and that respect and collaboration with colleagues is imbedded in all daily work activities
Responsible Care:
- Be aware of the Company\'s responsibility under the "Responsible Care" initiative and always uphold the conditions of such membership
Product Stewardship:
- Ensure products handled by the Company are only promoted for the purpose specified in writing by the Producer and make no claims or statements, which can be used against the Company

YOUR PROFILE
  • Minimum 5 years related work experience
  • Degree in supply chain management, production, engineering or similar fields
  • Experience in production and warehouse operation in manufacturing plant
  • Working knowledge and experience in the distribution of chemical will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of SAP PP/WM module is preferred
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of order to cash (OTC) and purchase to pay (PTP) process
