The Assistant Supervisor - Fruit & Vegetables is responsible for supporting the department supervisor in the daily operations of the fruit and vegetable section. This includes maintaining product quality, ensuring attractive displays, managing stock levels, and providing excellent customer service. The role also involves supervising staff and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the department supervisor in the day-to-day management of the fruit and vegetable section.
Monitor product quality, freshness, and presentation at all times.
Ensure shelves and displays are well-stocked, clean, and organized.
Rotate stock using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method.
Support in ordering, receiving, and inventory of produce.
Supervise and guide staff, including assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
Ensure excellent customer service is provided at all times.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with food safety regulations.
Assist in training new staff members.
Support promotional and seasonal displays.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a retail or supermarket environment, preferably in fresh produce.
Basic knowledge of fruits and vegetables, including handling and storage requirements.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead a small team and work under pressure.
Physically fit - able to lift boxes and stand for extended periods.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality and cleanliness.
Flexible to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
