Division: Group Wholesale Banking (\xe2\x80\x9cGWB\xe2\x80\x9d)

Based: Kuala Lumpur, Penang & Kuching

A great opportunity for highly capable Corporate Bankers. Reporting to the Segment / Team Head in Corporate Banking, this Senior Relationship Manager will be responsible to craft tailored financial solutions through constant dialogue and interaction with clients and product specialists as well as credit writing.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage a sub-team of credit client managers responsible for credit evaluation on corporate clients while marketing a range of Group Wholesale Banking (\xe2\x80\x9cGWB\xe2\x80\x9d) products and services (including loans, deposits, treasury, trade finance and cash management).
  • Proactively manage a portfolio of local corporates accounts, including keeping abreast with their latest development and identifying potential signs of asset deteriotation, and where necessary, develop strategy to address asset quality issues.
  • Focus on relationship building and networking with existing and prospective clients by constant engagement, closely monitoring of the latest development of their corporate exercises, understanding their financial needs and providing financial consultation services.
  • Work closely with product partners to formulate account strategies and proactively cross-selling financial products within GWB division including corporate finance, bonds, FX, derivatives, cash management & trade finance products.
  • Work closely with CIMB ASEAN counterparts who are the global corporate bankers /country corporate bankers to promote and cross-sell cross border banking solutions to the larger corporate customer group.
  • Ensure compliance of all processes/transactions/requirements with applicable regulatory framework/guidelines the Bank\'s policies and procedures by the team.
  • Coach, motivate and continuously develop client managers with the objective of equipping them with the right skills, attitude and knowledge to carry out their jobs effectively
  • Formulate KPIs and action plans based on Department\'s goals and objectives, and provide guidance and directions to team members.
  • Develop account plans/strategies for major client groups to maximize wallet share and enhance profitability and risk returns via cross-selling of GWB\'s products and services with the involvement of product partners.
  • Responsible for team\'s resources allocation to make sure speedy turnaround of live deals and completion of annual reviews on a timely basis.
  • Ensure the credit risks of assets under portfolio being actively monitored and managed.
  • Work closely with Asset Quality Management and Credit Risk Management to develop strategies/action plans for problematic accounts to minimize risk and potential losses.
  • Work closely with Credit Risk Management to manage clients\' risk profile effectively and assign appropriate rating to clients to avoid excessive capital allocations.
  • Provide guidance on AML/KYC review pertaining to onboarding of new accounts and periodic review of existing accounts.
  • Ensures that the team is fullly aware of all relevant internal policies and procedures, regulatory policies and guidelines and is fully complying therewith.
Requirements:
  • Confirmed employees in CIMB Group who are currently in U3 (Director) or U4 (Associate Director) OR
  • Minimum 12 years\' experience in corporate and investment banking with minimum 5 years of prior leadership position in a corporate banking role.
  • Degree in Banking, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting / Finance or related discipline preferred. Other disciplines can be considered subject to work experience/other professional qualifications.
  • Professional qualifications such as Chartered Banker, ACCA (or its equivalent), Banking and Financial Services Certificate (\xe2\x80\x9cBFSC\xe2\x80\x9d) and Certified Credit Professional (\xe2\x80\x9cCCP\xe2\x80\x9d) will be an added advantage
  • Possess Strong skills in credit analysis, loans recovery, people management, strategic planning.
  • Well-versed with rules and regulations and legal environment in the domestic landscape.
  • In-depth knowledge of the wholesale banking products and services, including loans, trade finance, cash management, treasury, project finance, capital markets, etc.
  • Strong business acumen to identify business opportunities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skill to drive the team and collaborate with various parties to achieve department\'s goals and objectives.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills in order to review and present business proposals successfully.
  • Responsible for driving a high performance culture, provide guidance to team members.
