Summary The Associate Director, Scientific Business Development - Immunemonitoring position at CellCarta will handle diversified business responsibilities for our immunemonitoring business unit. Key themes of this position are: Scientific Support for Business Development Needs - Provide specialized scientific subject expertise and follow up to drive Requests-for-Proposals (RFPs) into awarded projects. Participate in planning key account strategies and prioritize / execute strategic client partnering opportunities. High Value Target (HVT) Embedded Partner - Use deep platform knowledge and strategy to build relationships within key accounts with a goal of enhancing CellCarta\'s reputation with decision makers and engaging senior management teams to transition clients from transaction to enterprise partnerships. Industry Scientific Ambassador - Attend conferences and provide scientific presentations or posters to catalyze client interest and initiate new inquiries. Expert voice for marketing content generation. Technology Maven - Establish and maintain peer relationships with academic cores and technology vendors with specific intentions for co-promotion and marketing. Identify emerging platforms and validate R&D concepts through client and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) interactions. Internal Evangelist - Represent client voice and sow idea/concept seeds within CellCarta. Nurture strategic opportunities by providing awareness and informational training. Develop relevant business case support to enable research and product development. The ideal candidate has existing relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations who are developing oncology therapeutics, and a deep understanding of the client needs in biomarker studies. Applicants should be well-versed with all aspects of biomarker studies employing clinical flow cytometry (conventional and spectral), and familiar with the structure of biomarker analyses clinical trials. Experience with assay development, qualification, validation, and companion diagnostics, in addition to knowledge of regulatory requirements is an advantage. This position will expand a highly dynamic team of platform focused SBDs that connects client and technology themes across all technical biomarker platforms at CellCarta. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to scale and refine a highly successful business process. This position reports to the Senior Director, Scientific Business Development. Responsibilities The Associate Director, Scientific Business Development - Immunemonitoring is responsible to assess early client needs and identify alignment with CellCarta capabilities. This role is global and will handle client relationships and business opportunities from all regions, however they are expected to partner closely with business teams to provide support to opportunities in Europe and Asia. Responsibilities include the following: Partner with CellCarta business development team to initiate and establish interest with potential clients, utilizing scientific rapport to present our immunemonitoring biomarker services; Represent CellCarta to provide scientific, administrative, operational, and regulatory support to client assay development and deployment projects; Support CellCarta business development team with joint relationship building meetings, respond to CellCarta-specific inquiries, and provide guidance to close the RFPs with the proposals team; Support CellCarta business development team to plan key account strategies and work comfortably with a wide variety of client organization structures to identify decision makers and influencers; Interface with clients on emerging platform technologies and topics in biomarker science; Socialize client interest internally and organize CellCarta subject experts for teleconferences or in person sessions; Identify and solve critical client issues that may inhibit project award with appropriate timely communication to senior leadership; Assess regulatory requirements, interact with QA/Regulatory as applicable, to obtain feedback and approval on regulatory requirements; Interact with other functions to ensure that CellCarta has the capacity and capabilities to meet the client requirements, and document feedback; Provide technical and scientific oversight and assist in scoping out the optimization and validation strategy of incoming opportunities, according to the quality requirements; Support Sales and Marketing strategies by providing expert guidance on customer needs. Education PhD/MSc degree in health sciences with a demonstrated track of successful business development. Main Requirements Technical expertise and understanding of flow cytometry assay development and interpretation processes in a pharmaceutical, biotech, contract research, diagnostic or life science industry; Business acumen and experience with customer interactions and communication, focused on understanding their needs and translating this in assay development requirements; Experience working in pharma, diagnostics or CROs is required; Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communicator who can deliver effective presentations, consult on business improvement projects, and maintain collaborative relationships; Entrepreneurial spirit with a track record of initiative, personal responsibility, and ownership of work; Strong character and integrity; a consensus builder and innovator who thrives in a collegial atmosphere with a results-driven team; The selected candidate will be positive, flexible, team-oriented, and performance-driven; Team player, stress-resistant, with strong communication and organizational skills, and a continuous improvement mindset. Working Conditions 100% remote work, although must be located in Europe and/or the UK; Willingness to travel 30% for internal training, client visits, and conference attendance.
