Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Buyer position is primarily responsible for supporting procurement of assigned commodities to meet for best value, on time delivery and high quality. This role requires knowledge of key electro-mechanical commodity markets, contracting and negotiations. Main responsibilities include:

• Coordinate and ensure timely procurement of materials to meet production needs.
• Review, analyze and process purchase requisitions as needed.
• Actively participate in cross-functional teams to find new sources, supplier selections and negotiations.
• Obsolescent notification to Operations and Engineering
• Engineering Change Management coordination with Operations and Engineering
• Strong coordination with Planning/Scheduling to ensure material schedules line with revenue requirements

• Review, analyze and process purchase requisitions
• Update Material Master, SAP data
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing team to ensure cost, delivery, quality requirements are met
• Work with manufacturing team to optimize supply chain
• Timely disposition of MRB and ECM material

• Good knowledge and experience with ERP systems (SAP experience highly desired)
• Knowledge of materials master data bases
• Proven ability to work effectively with systems and components vendors and suppliers at all levels
• Good negotiation skills

• Bachelor's degree desired but not required (preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering)
• Minimum 2 years' experience in the field of procurement
