The Role Responsibilities

Strategy

The FM Communications and Engagement team is responsible for the strategy and delivery of internal communications and engagement across Financials Markets, and to develop industry leading knowledge centre and training programs through various channels, platforms and partners.

Business

This role is a key position in the FM Communications and Engagement team with involvement in all aspects of internal communications, knowledge management and employee engagement. This person will work in close partnership with FM Management Team, Product Managers, FM Business Managers, Technology, HR, Operations, and other internal functions to deliver high quality content that can be used across online channels.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Communications and Content Creator

  • Institutionalise and adhere to the FM Comms Framework for the efficient delivery of all internal communications.
  • Support the FM Communications and Engagement refresh - execute next set of priorities (for Business MT, Townhalls and delivery of strategic messaging).
  • Work across all FM businesses and functions to manage FM comms pipeline.
  • Reporting and analysis of FM Comms engagement metrics.
  • Partner with Product COO / Owners / Managers to roll out / refresh content with optimal tagging properties to achieve SEO (search engine optimisation).
Employee Engagement
  • Drive top down / bottom up business connectivity on forthcoming early careers redesign and Future banker FM programmes.
  • Actively promote, increase awareness and usage of learning tools available internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to develop training materials including internal platform applications (such as S2BX, Cortex, Sales \xe2\x80\x93 Trader Workflow, BTS, ION, CAT, Blade) to enable FM teams to fully optimise these technological tools; as well as client facing content (such as case studies and user guides) for client marketing and internal awareness.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives aligned with MyVoice (annual employee survey) action plan and track progress.

  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations amongst colleagues and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Actively communicate vision, priorities and progress to the business to foster engagement, awareness and motivation.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and sharing best practice.
  • Adherence to all relevant regulatory regimes.
Risk Management
  • Awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them.
  • Ability to interpret the Group\xe2\x80\x99s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and escalate accordingly.
Governance
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Support delivering \xe2\x80\x98effective governance\xe2\x80\x99; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • Relevant and direct experience in business aligned communications or COO roles.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent active listening skills.
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills \xe2\x80\x93 i.e. methodical and thorough.
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to audiences ranging from C-Suite to working level staff.
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
  • Resilient with a propensity to persevere.
  • Forward looking with a holistic approach.
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others.
  • Well versed with Business Agility principles, Agile certification would be a plus.
  • Experienced with large-scale organizational change efforts.
  • Strong understanding of commercial FM business.
  • Track record of influencing stakeholders across functions / business areas to achieve a common goal.
