Your Impact:

At Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation and storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.

We are currently looking for a Cable Engineer. It is an exciting time to be part of the energy transition at Jacobs as our Energy and Power business continues to experience rapid growth. We are working with established clients across the globe to deliver the Energy Transition. From major renewable energy projects to high voltage direct current inter country interconnectors and offshore grids, we\xe2\x80\x99re integrating a multitude of these solution elements to build a cleaner and more resilient energy future.

The Transmission Lines & Cables Section, falling under the APAC Transmission & Distribution Group within the Global Energy & Power Business Unit is looking to bolster its team in the Asia region with support on projects locally within Asia, as well as supporting the Australia & New Zealand (ANZ) region, and projects around the globe. Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need:

• BEng (Electrical) or related discipline
• Minimum 4-6 years of direct experience in underground cable design
• Design (Concept, FEED, and detail design) of transmission & distribution systems \xe2\x80\x93 for Utility companies based on International standards \xe2\x80\x93 for Australia & New Zealand, Asia, Middle East, UK, & US regions.
• Ability to carry out inter- disciplinary coordination and work effectively with leads to resolve any design issues.
• Application of broad practical knowledge to cable design & produces \xe2\x80\x93 Cable installation design including cable routing layouts, trench & trenchless section layouts, cable bonding & phasing, cable pulling, termination and jointing arrangements.
• Hands on experience/working knowledge of CYMCAP software and perform cable sizing calculations based on international standards.
• Attend client meetings for technical clarifications.
• Capable of working under challenging workload subject to change at short notice.
• Good communication & IT skills.
• Clear knowledge of work procedures, and ability to work independently.
• Delivering Drawings & Documentation to desired quality standards and according to mutually agreed timelines with the client.
• Able to communicate confidently with client or Foreign counterpart.
• Working in team to deliver projects on time.
• Attending meetings with project leads/Engineers.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, and MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation.
