Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $3,000 - $4,000/month + accommodation
Purpose Statement
Lead the design of mechanical systems and support electrical layouts for high-rise residential and hotel developments. Ensure all designs are efficient, compliant, and fully coordinated with architectural and structural elements.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver detailed designs for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in Revit/AutoCAD.
Prepare equipment schedules, layouts, and calculations (loads, pressure drop, duct sizing).
Produce technical drawings, specifications, and submissions for client/authority approval.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve clashes and optimize layouts.
Lead value engineering reviews to improve performance, cost, and sustainability.
Review shop drawings, conduct site inspections, and support commissioning.
Ensure compliance with Cambodian codes and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA).
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Requirements
5 - 10 years in mechanical design, with exposure to electrical systems.
Proven experience on high-rise or hotel projects.
Proficient in Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, or similar BIM tools.
Strong in HVAC load calculations, duct/piping layouts, and equipment selection.
Skilled in CAD/BIM modeling, MEP coordination, and clash detection.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
