Job Summary

The Car Estimator is responsible for assessing vehicle damage, determining repair costs, and preparing accurate estimates for customers, insurance companies, and internal departments. This role involves inspecting vehicles, analyzing repair requirements, sourcing parts, and ensuring estimates align with manufacturer standards and insurance guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect damaged vehicles to determine the extent of repairs needed. Identify required parts, labor, and repair time using estimating software. Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates. Communicate repair plans and timelines with customers. Negotiate and coordinate claims with insurance adjusters. Update customers throughout the repair process. Review repair orders and final invoices to ensure accuracy. Work closely with technicians to verify repair feasibility and cost. Maintain records of estimates and repair files. Follow safety and quality standards in automotive repair. Provide excellent customer service to ensure satisfaction and trust.

Required Skills

Strong automotive repair knowledge. Good understanding of collision repair process and parts. Computer skills and experience using estimating software. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Qualifications

Certificate/Diploma in Automotive Technology or related field (preferred). Experience in auto body repair or estimating (1-3 years preferred). Knowledge of insurance claim procedures (added advantage). Valid driver's license.

Working Environment

Typically works in body shops, collision centers, or car dealerships. Office and workshop environment. Regular communication with customers, insurers, and repair teams.
