To assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food in accordance with established standards and hygiene practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of ingredients and basic cooking tasks under the supervision of senior kitchen staff.
Follow instructions from the Chef de Partie and other senior chefs.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of work areas, equipment, and utensils.
Ensure proper storage of all food items.
Comply with food safety and sanitation standards.
Support kitchen operations during peak service hours.
Rotate food stock and manage inventory to minimize waste.
Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned by the chef or supervisor.
Requirements:
Basic culinary skills or relevant training (e.g., diploma or certificate in culinary arts is an advantage).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to learn and take direction.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
Working Conditions:
Work in hot, noisy kitchen environments.
May be required to lift heavy pots, pans, or supplies.
Long hours and standing for extended periods.
