Job Summary:

The Commis (Hot Side) is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes from the hot kitchen section. The role involves maintaining high standards of hygiene, quality, and consistency while supporting the culinary team in daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and cooking of hot dishes according to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards. Support Chef de Partie in ensuring smooth operation of the hot kitchen section. Prepare mise en place for assigned stations before service. Ensure all dishes are prepared and served on time and meet the restaurant's quality standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations at all times. Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines (HACCP standards). Assist in receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies and ingredients properly. Minimize food wastage and ensure proper storage and labeling of all food items. Follow instructions and cooperate with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Perform any other duties assigned by the Chef or management.

Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role (preferably in restaurant). Basic knowledge of hot kitchen cooking techniques and food safety. Passion for food preparation and willingness to learn. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure during service. Team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Able to stand for long periods. Comfortable working in a hot kitchen environment.

Pay: RM1,453.33 - RM3,789.46 per month
