RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION

To assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality pastries and desserts under the guidance of senior pastry chefs, ensuring consistency, hygiene, and adherence to food safety standards.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and bake pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to recipes and menu specifications. Assist in mise en place for pastry production, including weighing, mixing, and portioning ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section, adhering to HACCP and food hygiene standards. Support senior chefs in daily operations and contribute to smooth kitchen workflow. Label and date all food items to ensure proper stock rotation and minimize waste. Monitor equipment and report any malfunctions or safety concerns. Participate in daily briefings and training sessions to improve skills and knowledge. Assist in inventory checks and requisitioning supplies for the pastry section. Uphold grooming standards and comply with kitchen opening/closing procedures.

Requirements

Basic culinary training or certification preferred (e.g., Diploma in Pastry Arts). Prior experience in a pastry kitchen is an advantage but not mandatory. Knowledge of baking techniques, dessert plating, and food safety practices. Ability to follow instructions, work under pressure, and maintain attention to detail. Good communication skills and a positive team-oriented attitude.

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
