Department Overview The Motorola Solutions Worldwide Education team along with their Global and Regional business partners identify, create, deliver, and access Education and Enablement programs and tools for Customers, Channel Partners, and Employees. The programs and tools build skills, knowledge, and behaviors that enable our audiences to drive optimal business performance.



A Content Developer designs, creates, edits, and maintains high quality, comprehensive documentation. A content developer can accomplish the tasks by interpreting technical data into clear and concise printed and online written content that can easily be used by technical personnel and end-users with varying degrees of knowledge. The content developer is expected to produce the following types of documents: quick start guides, user guides, service manuals, online help, safety leaflets, accessories, and more. The content developer will be using desktop publishing tools such as easyDITA (Heretto) and oXygen to produce the content. Content Developer can accomplish the assignments by working with internal (project manager, information architect, media specialist, and production specialist) and external (subject matter experts from engineering) to design, plan and develop assigned content. Content Developer is expected to plan, design, develop and maintain content development skills and tools through various Learning and Development programs and skill matrix development. The Content Developer is expected to stay abreast of changing products, information technologies, and the technical communication industry.

A typical day for a content developer day is as follows:
\xe2\xa6\x81 Work with the project manager to ensure that your assigned content is on track in meeting deadlines.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Design new documents and support their development to deliver high quality customer documentation which adds value to our cutting-edge wireless communications Motorola Solutions technology.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Conduct continuous research on new documentation modalities and delivery methods, focusing on customer interaction and content customization, to enhance user experience with our products.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Identify and drive quality improvements of the documents within your portfolio.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Participate in meetings to comprehend product features, participate in scrum ceremonies to update the scrum team on project progress, and address issues.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Work with the engineering team by conducting interviews and researching the product features.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Translate the technical specifications and technical data into more laymen content that transgress user\xe2\x80\x99s various knowledge backgrounds.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Develop the content using desktop publishing tools (oXygen and easyDITA (Heretto), Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat Pro).
\xe2\xa6\x81 Ensure content adheres to Motorola Solutions Writing Standards.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Ensure content is for review by peers and technical reviewers.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Work with translation coordinators to translate English manuals to localized languages.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Work with media developers to ensure the content graphics adhere to Motorola Solutions Branding Guidelines.

Basic Requirements

Candidate must have at least a Bachelor\'s Degree in relevant field.

Strong command of the English language (oral and written).

Strong organizational and structuring skills.

High working level computer literacy in authoring tools, capability to use information mapping in preparing technical write-up would be an added advantage.

Ability to write to a highly technical and specialized audience using industry concepts and terms.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.

Willing to work in Bayan Lepas, Penang.
