KEY RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

• Manage day-to-day development responsibilities for the Viu Original series, from concept to script lock. This includes pitch evaluation, concept ideation, providing creative notes, preparing pitch decks, and other development tasks as needed.
• Support all creative aspects of development, working closely with internal producers to ensure seamless transition from development through to production.
• Cultivate and manage key relationships with external production companies, writers, producers, directors and talent to ensure Viu receives a steady and consistent pipeline of the very best people and ideas.
• Manage, coordinate and track development activities through each phase to ensure delivery within stipulated series timelines.
• Research international formats with adaptation potential for Malaysia as well as existing local IP with reboot/spin-off potential.
• Coordinate with other Viu departments: Programming, Operations, Marketing, Research, Ad Sales, Product, Legal, et al.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Minimum of 2 years\' experience in original scripted content development for television/film.
• Passion for conceptualizing disruptive, breakthrough content.
• Bachelor\'s degree necessary.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with writers, directors, producers and talent at various levels.
• Good understanding of the Malaysian broadcast landscape and cultural zeitgeist, balanced with a firm grasp of international content trends.
• Strong editorial and communication skills; self-starter; team player; idea generator; deadline-oriented; strong work ethic; able to exercise sound creative judgment.
• Top-notch written and oral communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
