JOB TITLE : Corporate Finance Sr Analyst

REPORTS TO : Assistant Corporate Finance Manager

FUNCTION : FINANCE

SUB-FUNCTION : Corporate Finance

LOCATION : Malaysia

PURPOSE STATEMENT:

This role is part of GBS Corporate Finance Team.

The primary responsibility of the role is to proactively assist in the delivery of Group Statutory & Management Reporting in accordance with Accounting Standards and Governance Controls for South Pacific end markets. The role includes assist in the delivery Month End- Half Year, Fast Close and Year End financial reporting while identifying Operational Efficiencies in key areas to achieve BAU results.

The objective of this role is to assist in the stakeholder management, budget management and supporting the business in the process of decision-making for South Pacific end markets.

The GBS Corp Finance Analyst will also be key to support the management in ensuring a sound control environment to address business risks and model the competitive impact on BAT\xe2\x80\x99s business.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Operational:

  • Prepare and deliver accurate information in line with Group accounting principles.
  • Ensure month end close activities, statutory and management financial reporting (actuals) are performed on time.
  • Provide support, statutory, management and transactional activities to end market for business operations.
  • Performs monthly analytical reviews and prepares meaningful commentaries to explain results.
  • Support end market finance and liaise with tax agents on monthly tax reporting activities (e.g. Sales tax / VAT and withholding tax).
  • Investigating and responding to ad-hoc queries/reporting relating to financial performance and analysis requests.
  • Assist to coordinate the delivery of annual external statutory audit exercise.
  • Coordinate and ensure alignment and delivery of control navigator and internal controls related exercises.
  • Understand the functionality, interfaces, and interdependencies of the financial processes and systems; ensure the existence of adequate internal controls.
  • Drive in implementing internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION * Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree in economics, finance, accounting or similar.
  • Minimum 1 years of accounting experience in a multinational company.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SAP, BPC (added advantage) with some commercial/audit.
  • Team player who collaborates and coordinates effectively within the DRBU, with stakeholders at varying levels in the organisational hierarchy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and reach the tight deadlines.
  • Proactive, persuasive, creative and prepared to challenge existing ideas from own level in the organization.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • A financial background with a professional accountancy qualification (CA,CIMA, ACCA, CPA).
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of MS Office programs with high competency in Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to interpret financial data.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and urgency.
  • Able to cater to South Pacific market work hours.
  • Relationship Objective:
