FUNCTION: Global Business Services Finance - Corporate Finance

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The role is part of GBS Corporate Finance Team. The primary responsibility of the role is to proactively drive the delivery of Operating and Free Cash Flow, Working Capital Management, Accounting Month-end Closure for financial reporting. The role includes delivering cash flow targets for the Half Year and Year End Reporting, monitoring collection and payment trends, managing overdue collections, identifying funding options for the Company and overseeing month-end closure as well as year-end statutory reporting.

Geographic Scope: Selangor, Malaysia

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Accountable for period-end closing activities to ensure timely completion of Trial Balance, P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow.
  • Deliver half year and full year operating and free cash flow targets by forecasting and tracking cash movements.
  • Responsible to generate cash flow forecast (BATCASH) and ensure adequate cash availability to avoid business disruption
  • Innovate cash collections and payments process flow and capitalise on technology to improve speed and accuracy.
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors, tax agents, regulators and tax authority in respect of company\'s financial matters.
  • Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, corporate authority limits.
  • In charge of managing bank signatories and local banking relationships with reference to directions from Group Treasury.
  • Manage escalation from GBS, End Markets, cross-function and external stakeholders.
  • Manage senior stakeholders including Financial Director, Senior Leadership Team and Area Directors.
  • Ensure the team adheres to SOX controls, corporate authority limits, financial institutions\' rulings and escalate findings.
  • Stakeholders:
  • End Market Corporate Finance Business Partner: informing about status and decisions to be made about cash flow forecasting trends, trade partner programmes, timing of trade collections, expenditures for tender committee.
  • End Market functional SPOCs: coordinating and ensuring alignment and delivery of capital expenditure, excise payments, trial balance, month end closure.
  • End Market Head of Finance and Finance Director: reporting and provide support on working capital and audit statuses
  • Group Treasury: align cash usage, loan drawdowns from internal and external providers, timing of forex hedging contracts
  • GBS Functional Managers and Banking teams: coordinating bank signatories, vendor management, online banking portals
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Candidates must possess at least Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting and/or professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CPA/MIA etc).
  • 8-10 years\' of working experience with solid experiences across cash flow management and full set of accounts.
  • Possess a good understanding of group accounting principles - ability to identify accounting issues
  • Experience of working in an external audit industry a distinct advantage.
  • Tax experience and experience in Shared Services Centre Environment is an added advantage.
  • Exposure to MNC working environment and Consolidated Group Accounts will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in using SAP system.
  • Good English proficiency.
  • Able to identify process and reporting improvements and proactively implement solutions.
  • Have a collaborative and flexible style. Able to influence stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills to support key stakeholders.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with all stakeholders and is a team player.
  • Has the ability to prioritise and manage own workload, is resilient and open to challenges.
  • Able and willing to provide guidance to subordinates, strong leadership traits and capability.
  • Calm under pressure, knows when to escalate, demonstrates a high degree of motivation and discipline. Demonstrates an organised and structured approach.
