Other responsibilities include inventory management, intercompany recharges, plant costs and expenses, standard costing, variances and margins analysis, ensure accounting procedures are done according to US GAAP and US SOX requirements. 2.0 REPORTING The Accountant reports directly to the Financial Controller APAC 3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES Drive the monthly close & cost accounting process of the product cost of the business. Performs maintenance of the ERP system to support accumulation of cost accounting data. Maintain controls in accordance with GAAP and company policies. Follow GAAP procedures. Handle all cost accounting responsibilities, monitoring and analysis of production costs\' variances. Prepare journal entries, schedules and analysis in accordance with GAAP. Participation in the Management Accounting month end close process. Play an active role in the SAP implementation of the Plant. Liaise with Auditors and Tax Agents on statutory requirements. To ensure SOX compliances. To carry out other duties or tasks as assigned by superior from time to time. 4.0 PROFILE ACCA/Degree in Accountancy/Diploma with CA certification or equivalent. At least 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Proficient in SAP R3 or S4, experience in SAP implementation a plus. Knowledge of US GAAP and cost accounting a plus. Meticulous, detail oriented. Strong problem-solving skills. Proficient in MS Office applications e.g. Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP). Works independently with minimum supervision. Work with tight reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to communicate (read, write, speak) in English and Bahasa Malaysia a plus.
