Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive safety and health programs in Malaysia, aligning with global objectives.
Ensure compliance with relevant local regulations and standards, including but not limited to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, regulations on dangerous goods handling, and business continuity planning requirements.
Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards, evaluate risks, and recommend effective preventive measures.
Provide guidance and support to employees and management in Malaysia on health and safety matters, including training programs, emergency response procedures, and safe work practices.
Manage and oversee the handling, storage, and transportation requirements of dangerous goods in Malaysia, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with regulatory authorities, such as the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), in Malaysia to ensure timely compliance with reporting requirements and inspections.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Malaysia to develop and implement business continuity plans to mitigate potential disruptions and ensure the company\'s ability to continue operations in the event of emergencies or crises.
Coordinate with the Cluster Head - Health & Safety, Dangerous Goods & Business Continuity for Singapore and Malaysia to align strategies, share best practices, and provide updates on safety and health initiatives in Malaysia.
Investigate and analyze accidents, incidents, and near misses in Malaysia, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to occupational health and safety, dangerous goods, and business continuity.
Provide expertise and support in achieving and maintaining ISO 45001 certification in Malaysia, including conducting internal audits and ensuring compliance with the standard
Requirements:
Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) in Malaysia.
Minimum of 7-10 years of working experience as a Safety and Health Manager, preferably in the manufacturing and/or logistics sector.
