Job Description


The main purpose of the Credit Controller role is to manage the collections activities of accounts in the China market with outstanding invoices. This is a client facing position that also involves significant contact with internal stakeholders, often requiring collaboration between teams to resolve issues with delinquent accounts. The individual will be responsible for meeting defined key performance targets while adhering to departmental policies and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Build trust and confidence with customers, acting as their advocate when issues are raised.
  • Meet key performance targets and operational objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to the business engagement model, following touch point guidelines and making sure comments and tasks are properly recorded in the collections system.
  • Liaise with internal and external individuals to resolve billing disputes and queries.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders in Finance, Sales and Operations.
  • Prepare daily cash allocation working file for Cash Application team
  • Perform and research of unallocated and unidentified payments by reference of China Cash allocation policy
  • Manage the breach of contract and disconnection process when payments cannot be collected.
  • Take ownership of actions from debt and provision meetings.
  • Identify accounts that require special attention and act with urgency to resolve issues.
  • Approve Credit Check against current process
  • Improve the payment check process between LSEG and the client
  • Assist in business relationship development
  • Coordination with collection agency to collect money for long-aged receivables.
  • Evaluate bad debts provision based on systematic debt data analysis and supporting details
  • Participate and contribute on yearend audits with internal/external auditor
Required Skills and Experience:
  • College degree in Accounting, Finance, Economic
  • Related financial working experience is preferred
  • Fluent in speaking and writing in Chinese/Mandarin
  • Good in writing and speaking in English
  • Highly motivated, task oriented and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven customer service experience, ideally working with large international clients
  • Demonstrated success managing accounts receivable and resolving billing issues
  • Ability to work under pressure and driven to achieve targets
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and demonstrated ability to set and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to drive performance and ensure results delivery
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools with strong Excel skills
  • 2-4 years of experience
