Job Responsibilities:

  • Advise all business lines of the Companies on privacy related matters.
  • Be a point of contact for data subjects access rights for the Companies.
  • Check alignment between Company and local laws.
  • Manage personal data incidents including monitoring the implementation of personal data incidents processes and steering the incident handling process.
  • Report any privacy deficiency and report to regional, Group Privacy or appropriate authorities of any material data privacy incident as may be required by Company and local laws.
  • Plan, manage and implement regular training programs to communicate and create awareness of data privacy principles to all employees of the Companies.
  • Implement operational processes under the Privacy Framework for the Companies.
  • Coordinate with Information Security Officer when defining and embedding security measures.
  • Work with information owners of the Companies to identify security measures to be implemented for activities or processes involving personal data by performing Privacy Impact Assessments.
  • Prepare reporting for the Board of directors\' operating subsidiaries to give assurance on the implementation of Company Privacy Framework.
  • Work with Global Incident Management for resolution of incidents involving personal data, and according to the functional rules for personal data incident management and reporting for Protection & Resilience monitoring.
  • Advise local legal function on defining retention schedules of the Companies and monitor compliance with retention schedules relating to personal data.
  • Any other tasks as may be assigned by the Superior/HOD.
Job Requirements:
  • Relevant Privacy Professional certification (Asia/Europe) e.g., IAPP CIPP; IAPP CIPM Certification
  • Relevant knowledge of data privacy principle-based frameworks
  • 3 to 5 years relevant experience managing data privacy department in financial institution/company.
  • Self-managing, systematic, organised, able to multitask and interested to take on challenging work
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and capable of problem solving
  • To conduct training with good presentation skills
  • In-house lawyers from financial institutions, legal training/background, knowledge of the Personal Data Protection Act, 2010 will be an added advantage.
