Position : Database Administrator

Salary : RM 4,000 - RM 7,000

Location : Damansara Uptown

Working Days / Time : 8.30am - 5.30pm

Job summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and maintain our organization's databases. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, security, and availability of our databases, as well as providing technical expertise in database design, implementation, and optimization.

Responsibility

Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL and PostgreSQL

Monitor database performance and proactively address potential issues.

Ensure database security, integrity, and availability by implementing and maintaining appropriate access controls and backup strategies.

Perform regular database backups, restorations, and disaster recovery testing.

Optimize database performance through tuning queries, indexes, and configurations.

Design, develop, and maintain database schemas, tables, views, triggers, and stored procedures.

Collaborate with development teams on database design and support for applications.

Maintain up-to-date documentation for database configurations, processes, and policies.

Apply patches and perform upgrades to database software and tools.

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and service requests.

Requirement

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field.

Proven experience in database administration or similar role with at least 2 years of hands-on experience.

Proficiency with one or more database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL).

Experience with replication, clustering, and failover strategies.

Strong knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.

Familiarity with database design principles and data modelling concepts.

Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g. AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).

Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

Familiarity with database monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds, Redgate, Nagios).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to RM7,000.00 per month
