Job Summary:

The Database Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing database systems across on-premise and cloud environments. This role requires strong technical expertise in Microsoft SQL, cloud-native databases, and Oracle, with the ability to ensure high performance, security, and availability of all database platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and manage cloud database hosting environments. Install, configure, and maintain database systems (Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and cloud-native databases). Perform database tuning and optimization to ensure high availability and performance. Monitor database health, capacity, and security compliance. Develop and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and functions. Perform regular backups, restoration testing, and disaster recovery planning. Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues and errors. Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application requirements. Ensure database documentation, standards, and best practices are consistently followed. Support database migration activities (on-premise to cloud or cross-platform).

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in database engineering or administration.

Strong knowledge of cloud database hosting (AWS, Azure, or equivalent).

Proficient in Microsoft SQL and cloud-native database technologies (SQL Level 3).

Hands-on experience with Oracle database systems. Strong understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and security. Experience with backup/restore, replication, and disaster recovery solutions. Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues. Good communication and teamwork skills.

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM8,500.00 per month
