Work closely with Chef de Partie.
Able to run a section of the kitchen on his/her own while ensuring that it runs according to performance standards.
Maintains a high level of food quality standards, whilst following Menus, Recipe formats, and directions as outlined.

Preparing and cooking food.
Assisting in all activities in the kitchen.
Enforce health and safety standards in the kitchen.
Oversees preparation, cooking and presentation for plates.
Provide direction to the kitchen helpers, including commis, cooks, kitchen attendants and stewards.
Ensure that all dishes from that section are prepared consistently and accordingly to standard recipes.
To ensure minimum kitchen wastage.
To ensure knowledge of the product is maintained and communicated to all relevant personnel.
To be responsible for completing mis en place.
To learn and record skills and recipes from other members of the department.
To monitor stock movement and be responsible for ordering on your section.
To be flexible and willing to help the restaurant kitchen at busy times if required.
