Deputy General Manager / Senior Manager Ocean Import

Job Description


  • Oversee and manage the entire import process, including SFLA (Sea Freight Arrival), customs clearance, costing, and billing for Import Jobs (Consol/FCL/LCL).
  • Ensure strict adherence to local regulations and company policies, collaborating closely with customs authorities to maintain smooth and efficient import operations.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and partners, negotiating favorable terms and rates to enhance performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and execute import strategies and plans aimed at improving efficiency, reducing costs, and optimizing overall operations.
  • Foster seamless collaboration with other departments, such as sales, customer service, and logistics, to ensure a smooth import process and deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Prepare and review all essential import documentation, including customs declarations, bills of lading, and commercial invoices.
  • Provide customers with timely and accurate costing and billing information, ensuring prompt payment collections.
  • Offer Import Consol Profile, forecast, budgetary, and nomination reports to management for informed decision-making.
  • Present agent analysis reports to management for insights into performance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Supervise and guide a team of import specialists, providing necessary training, support, and leadership.
Requirements
  • A bachelors degree in business, logistics, or a related field is required.
  • Candidates must possess a minimum of 8 years of extensive experience in import operations, encompassing SFLA, customs clearance, and costing and billing for Import Jobs (Consol/FCL/LCL).
  • Thorough knowledge of local regulations and customs procedures is essential.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • The ability to effectively manage and lead a team is a key requirement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software is expected.
  • Strong attention to detail and adeptness at multitasking in a fast-paced environment are crucial traits.
  • A customer-focused mindset and dedication to delivering high-quality services are highly valued.
