We are looking to appoint a Digital Manager for Malaysia, who will own responsibility for the market?s digital technologies. The successful candidate will be a strategic, proactive partner to the business, be able to focus on value generation over simple project completion and be an expert not only in the technology but also in our commercial and medical business. Our ambition is to be pioneering in health care industry in identifying suitable technology to help patients. Asia Area Commercial consists of India, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam. We have a total of about 3,400 employees and a revenue of close to 1.000M USD. Asia Area is a dynamic, collaborative and fast-growing business. Note that China/HK, Japan and Australia/NZ are not in scope for this role. Background of the Role At AstraZeneca, our IT organisation is pushing the boundaries of technology to enable the digitisation and transformation of the business. We are focussed on smoothing the patient and HCP journey through Digital Innovation and supporting the growth of the business through impactful launches, field effectiveness and digital/multi-channel capabilities ? all founded on deep partnerships with our business colleagues. The role, reporting into Malaysia?s Head of IT, will be responsible for a mix of foundational technologies and innovative solutions for doctors, patients and other elements of our ecosystem. A strong focus will be on value generation and return-on-investment over number of digital initiatives launched. The successful candidate will in some cases have to deeply support the up skilling of teams that are nascent in their digital maturity. Accountabilities
  • Hold full accountability for Malaysia?s digital technologies; digital in this case refers to technologies that are used to support engagement with our external stakeholders (doctors, patients, governments etc.)
  • Take the lead in upskilling the business on digital concepts, technologies and best practices.
  • Ensure the business take a long-term approach to digital initiatives, including advertising, technology updates and future content-planning.
  • Enable a greater visibility within the business on digital analytics and value generated.
  • Provide strategic input to commercial and medical teams within Malaysia, with a focus on digital uplift and innovation.
  • Develop a short-term plan and long-term roadmap to deliver business success through digital for the market.
  • Coordinate with Malaysia's Head of IT and the Asia digital lead to ensure alignment of global and regional initiatives and strategy.
  • Ensure business satisfaction of digital is high, based on regular engagement surveys with the commercial / medical teams and leadership.
Essential requirements
  • Proven experience in the development and launch of digital (marketing) initiatives
  • Deep experience of understanding (external) customer journeys and designing new customer experiences
  • Entrepreneur, proactive mindset with excellent business awareness and understanding
  • Excellent team-working skills (especially in a culturally diverse, demanding environment) and a willingness to get alongside issues, provide clear direction and drive results
  • Strong track record of delivering Digital solutions with clear outcome metrics
  • Ability to develop and create compelling business cases to promote new technologies and outcomes to the business
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
