Job Summary



As a

Director of FI Sales

based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, you will be a key player in driving the strategic growth and profitability of our cash management and trade finance portfolios. You will develop and implement sales strategies aligned with the Group's overall business objectives, ensuring deep client engagement and delivering superior service. Your role extends to nurturing client relationships with financial institutions and correspondent banking clients, understanding their business models, and presenting tailored financial solutions that meet their evolving needs. You will be expected to act decisively by leveraging your comprehensive knowledge of cash and trade products, market insights, and competitor landscape to enhance the bank's market share and revenue growth. This role demands a strategic mindset combined with a strong commercial focus, enabling you to influence decision-makers effectively and shape the future direction of our financial products and services

Collaboration with cross-functional teams is critical, as you will work closely with product managers and other stakeholders to identify cross-selling opportunities and innovate customer propositions. Additionally, you will oversee the management of account plans, budget commitments, and ensure adherence to all regulatory and internal governance frameworks. Your contribution will directly impact the bank's positioning as a trusted advisor within the financial industry.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute comprehensive sales strategies targeted at expanding our cash and trade finance portfolios within financial institutions and correspondent banking sectors. Maintain and grow robust relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and implementers, ensuring the delivery of customised solutions aligned with client business needs. Oversee the negotiation of pricing terms and contractual arrangements to optimise profitability while safeguarding client satisfaction and long-term partnerships. Drive the sales pipeline efficiently, utilizing CRM tools to ensure accurate and timely communication across the sales and servicing teams. Collaborate with product managers and internal stakeholders to provide market feedback and contribute to product development and improvement initiatives. Identify and capitalise on cross-selling opportunities, enhancing the value delivered to clients across the bank's network. Ensure high standards of client service are consistently maintained, coordinating with service management and operational teams to resolve any post-sales issues effectively. Monitor market trends and competitor activities to provide informed insights and maintain the bank's competitive edge. Manage budgetary and account plan commitments diligently, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory compliance.

Skills and Experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word to effectively analyse data and present findings. Exceptional communication and presentation skills capable of engaging diverse audiences and influencing key stakeholders. Strong negotiation capabilities, able to secure favourable terms while maintaining long-term client relationships. Excellent time management and organisational skills to handle multiple priorities and complex deal cycles efficiently. Proven ability to build and maintain rapport with clients, fostering trust and loyalty. Sound problem-solving skills to anticipate challenges and devise innovative solutions tailored to client situations. Capability to multitask in a dynamic environment, balancing strategic initiatives and operational demands.

Qualifications


Education



A university degree is required, preferably in business, finance, economics, or a related field


Knowledge and Experience



Over 10 years of banking experience with a strong track record, including at least 5 years specifically working with financial institutions and correspondent banking clients. In-depth understanding of cash management and trade finance products and services. Demonstrated ability to independently identify opportunities, develop and execute sales strategies, and deliver measurable business results. Proficiency in structuring financial solutions and handling related documentation. Strong credit analysis and risk assessment skills. Experience working effectively within a matrix or networked organisational structure, collaborating across multiple teams and geographies

Skilled at cultivating strong networks within client organisations, influencing key decision-makers and obtaining buy-in.
