The Role Responsibilities

Job Role

This role has responsibilities to Support product, processes and systems for Credit Cards across the group. Work closely with the cards product team across the markets to drive their card client journeys. Work with Global Head, Personal and Biz Banking S&T, COO to ensure strong and robust processes in place to support credit cards business and manage risks in all SnT owned process universe.

Strategy

  • Support Global Head Personal and Biz Banking S&T, COO to drive cohesive strategy with key stakeholders in Retail Banking Product, Operations and others by bringing technical expertise and operational design together to ensure commercialisation of Credit Card products.
Business
  • Support Business (Primarily Retail) to achieve financial targets through commercialisation of Credit Card products and driving new initiatives in the Credit Cards space.
Processes
  • Identify hubbing opportunities across the Credit Card space to ensure maximisation of hub capabilities. Identify areas in the credit card space for process improvements and automation.
  • Drive standardization of processes to ensure a scalable operating model is in place.
  • Design processes for regulatory needs on global basis for Credit Cards.
People and Talent
  • Develop skills to achieve the best-in-class Credit Card technology and operations team and create industry benchmarks.
  • Strengthen people and technical skill set capabilities in hubs and countries through structured training programs.
  • Strive to build the Here for good culture across SnT Operations team.
  • Constant engagement with Peers to share knowledge and expertise.
Risk Management

Work with stake holders to identify key investments required to be made on the process and system design for Credit businesses so that risk environment is controlled.
  • Act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness becomes apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated through the relevant committees through head, product engineering credit cards.
  • Help assess market and business needs to take appropriate decisions to alter / enhance processes to suit dynamic market conditions.
Governance
  • Ensure relevant information is shared with the forums such as PGC\xe2\x80\x99s, PSGS, and Lending Products forums, Operational Risk Committee etc as delegated and required. to ensure a strong risk framework is embedded in processes and systems.
Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the Group ops to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Conduct Principles: [Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment].
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • Awareness of the key tenets of our business strategy and operating model and positioning the company as a leader in the banking products space.
Risk Management and Control
  • A deep understanding of processes and technology and the ability to leverage on technology solutions as a methodology to alleviate risk. Awareness and understanding of the different types of risks facing the business \xe2\x80\x93 legal, compliance (regulatory), operational, technology, credit etc. and applying this knowledge in the design of product processes.
Financial Analysis and Control
  • Ability to interpret financial information and ensure flexibility in processes to ensure action can be taken as appropriate based on this financial information.
Governance, Oversight and Controls
  • Ensure there is strong governance, oversight and controls in the banking products space and ensure processes are flexible to meet changing dynamic needs.
