The individual appointed to this position will be based in East Malaysia and serve as the primary representative of MTCC (Malaysian Timber Certification Council) in the regions of Sabah and Sarawak. The aim is to champion the objectives and principles of the MTCS (Malaysian Timber Certification Scheme) within these areas. This entails not only promoting awareness and understanding of the MTCS but also actively working to ensure that all the essential components and criteria of the MTCS are effectively implemented and adhered to in accordance with the established standards and guidelines.
Set up of MTCC satellite office either in Sabah or Sarawak.
Expand the network with stakeholders.
Observe Forest Management and Chain of Custody audits in Sabah and Sarawak.
This position will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
Requirements:
The candidate should preferably be at least 30 years old.
The candidate must possess at least a Bachelor\'s Degree in the following fields: Public Policy, Public Administration, Forestry, Natural Resources Management, Ecology, Environmental Sciences or Biological Sciences, Forest Plantation and Agroforestry, , Conservation Biology or equivalent.
Working experience in tropical forest management and forest plantation management, knowledge in geographical information system and familiar with laws and regulation of Sabah and Sarawak will be an added advantage.
Good interpersonal skill and ability to network with indigenous community, governments officials and forest related industries.
Minimum of 5 years experience related to forest management, timber trade or related fields.
The candidate should have excellent spoken and written fluency in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Fluent in other language Mandarin, Cantonese or other Chinese dialect or indigenous languages of Sabah or Sarawak will be an added advantage.
Applicants should be Malaysian citizens.
Expected to travel vigorously within the Sarawak, Sabah, Peninsular Malaysia and abroad.
