Job Description

Responsible for the operational running of our busy newsroom. Working closely with out editor to track all newsroom output across written, design and video. To raise the profile of our news platforms and to improve the quality of relationships with PR to improve the level of contributed content to our portals.
Responsibilities

• Oversee and assist editorial assistant to update and post relevant press releases daily on all the news portals
• Track deadlines on all work being produced by the newsroom and ensure deadlines are hit. Take responsibility for prioritising deadlines and manage workloads.
• To track output from Graphic Designer and videographer, ensuring work is delivered to deadline and check quality is of high enough standard.
• To monitor and minute tasks and actions assigned during weekly during the Editorial meeting
• To reach out to PR companies, Communication for comments and sales opportunities for advertorial, blogs, sponsorships, and high level interviews. Improve our proactivity and successfully get more engagement in the IT community and secure high-level interviews with senior IT figures.
• To propose and suggest new ideas for new content / editorial coverage that makes the news sites more interesting
• Becoming a stakeholder in finding ways to improve the reach and reputation of our news portals
• Review social media account content and review stats and reach of social media activity.

• A project manager who is able to monitor and ensure the timeline are met and anticipate unforeseen circumstances to avoid delays
• A very detailed candidate - precision, accuracy, organization, and neatness are the cornerstones of the detailed personality trait.
• A people person who will be able to manage and work with different personalities in the team and drive to achieve a common goal
• An idea for design and video quality or a willingness to learn, so that the candidate can help quality check multi-media output
• Proactive and creative to ensure we are visible in the IT space and successful in securing high level interview subjects.
