About the RoleWe\'re looking for a highly motivated and result oriented underwriter to join Global Engineering SEA team with working location in Kuala Lumpur. You will report to Engineering Underwriting Manager in Singapore. This is a great opportunity that you can handle both engineering treaty and engineering facultative businesses together. Primary role of this position is to support business development and underwriting of engineering portfolio in Malaysia and Indonesia markets. This position will also support daily business operation of other South East Asia and Australia markets by conducting pre-underwriting analysis.This role may be hired at VP Level based on candidate experience.Responsibilities

• Profitably grow facultative and treaty engineering portfolio in allocated markets, while providing high quality underwriting services and risk solutions to reinsurance clients.

• Follow up post underwriting activities such as risk survey, portfolio reserve setting, treaty / fac post-bind servicing and claims supports while helping the administrative staffs to manage UW documentation and IT system accurately according to company guidelines.

• Support Engineering Digital strategy and other growth initiatives \xe2\x80\xa2 Strengthen Swiss Re market position in allocated markets according to company strategy. e.g. marketing activities, client services, underwriting training ...etc.

• Work together with cross functional team to strengthen overall partnerships with reinsurance clients for achieving win-win.

• Play an active role in the Swiss Re Global Engineering community in terms of knowledge sharing, portfolio review and / or special projects.

• In addition to allocated markets, support business operation of other Asia Engineering Underwriting teams if required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Engineering degree with working experience in large infrastructure construction projects.

• More than 5 years of Underwriting experience in Engineering Insurance

• Client focused (understand client\'s needs and act on them) and a problem-solving mindset.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Comfortable to work in a fast-paced, under pressure and multi-cultural environment.

• Willing to travel.

• Language: English and Indonesian (Bahasa) a bonus.
