Monitor and coordinate the tasks of all appointed Competent Persons (CPs) to ensure responsibilities are carried out according to DOE and legal requirements.
Review reports, logbooks, and daily records prepared by each CP for accuracy and completeness.
2. Environmental Compliance & Reporting
Ensure full compliance with DOE (Department of Environment) requirements.
Coordinate with and supervise Competent Persons:
- CePIETSO (PCP) Certified Environmental Professional in Industrial Effluent Treatment System Operation - overseeing Industrial Effluent Treatment System.
- CePBFO (Certified Environmental Professional in Bag Filter Operation) - overseeing Bag Filter Operation.
- CePSWAM (Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management) - overseeing Scheduled Waste Management.
Ensure all competent persons perform monitoring, reporting, and documentation as required.
Liaise with regulatory authorities such as the Department of Environment (DOE) on inspections, audits, and reporting matters. Act as the main point of contact for all engagements or visits from the DOE.
3. Documentation & Licensing
Maintain and update all licenses and permits related to:
- Industrial Effluent (e.g., IETS License).
- Bag Filter/ Chimney System.
- Scheduled Waste Management.
Ensure all logbooks, records, and environmental reports (e.g., EQA reports, Environmental Audit, DOE submissions) are up to date and submitted on time.
Responsible for preparation of Environmental Monitoring Plan and implementation of environmental monitoring procedures.
Maintain internal and regulatory reporting of data collection and performance monitoring of scheduled waste, industrial effluent and Air pollution Control System management programmed.
Prepare monthly reports accordingly to schedule.
4. Operational Oversight/
Environmental System Oversight
Supervise the proper operation of environmental control systems:

IETS
- in coordination with CePIETSO

Bag Filter / Chimney System
- in coordination with CePBFO

Scheduled Waste Management System
- in coordination with CePSWAM
Oversee the daily operations of environmental control systems (IETS, chimney stack, etc.).
Work closely with the CePIETSO to ensure effluent discharge complies with Standard B or relevant limits.
Monitor and assist in troubleshooting environmental equipment if required.
5.
Internal Training & Awareness
Responsible for creating awareness among employees regarding statutory environmental requirements and the potential adverse impacts of operational activities, as well as conducting regular environmental awareness training session.
Promote continuous improvement and best practices in environmental protection and sustainability.
6. Audits & Improvements
Prepare and assist during DOE audits, internal or external EMS audits (e.g., ISO 14001).
Review operational records and take corrective action for any non-compliance or performance issues
7. Other Duties
Perform any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and best practices
Experience in environmental compliance, auditing, or sustainability initiatives is preferred.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Certification in environmental auditing or ISO 14001 (preferred but not required).
Possession of relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management - CePSWaM, Certified Environmental Professional in Bag Filter Operation- CePBFO, Certified Environmental Professional in Industrial Effluent Treatment System Operation - CePIETSO (PCP)) is a significant advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferably Junior Executive specialized in Environmental or equivalent
Required language(s): English and Bahasa Malaysia
Immediate availability to start work is preferred.
