The role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all environmental regulations, monitoring site environmental performance, and supporting the implementation of the project's Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
Malaysian citizen.
Must possess
one
of the following DOE-recognized Environmental Officer certifications:
Certified Environmental Professional in Schedule Waste Management (CePSWaM)
or
Certified Environmental Professional in Erosion & Sediment Control (CeSEC)
Language: English and Bahasa Malaysia
Ensure full compliance with the Environmental Quality Act 1974 (EQA), DOE requirements, and project environmental specifications.
Prepare and update the Environmental Management Plan (EMP), Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan (ESCP), waste management procedures, and environmental reporting.
Conduct daily/weekly site environmental inspections and prepare inspection reports.
Monitor air quality, noise, vibration, water quality, and other environmental parameters required by DOE.
Coordinate scheduled waste management (SW 204, SW 409, etc.) according to DOE Scheduled Waste Regulations.
Liaise with DOE, local council (MBJB/MPPG), and other authorities as needed.
Conduct environmental toolbox briefings and awareness programs for workers.
Support incident investigation and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain environmental documentation and ensure proper filing for audits.
