Job Description


Customer Operations Executive will support our Mill Booking team by monitoring RFQ allocations, overseeing bookings, maintaining records of premium approvals, and managing weekly freight spend reports. Engagement with the Mill team in Indonesia and providing backup support for the Booking Team Lead are also essential responsibilities.Job Responsibilities:

  • Daily monitoring of allocation as per RFQ award and alert of any updates by DGF Procurement/carriers due to market condition.
  • Daily checking of allocation reporting vs carrier booking report and publish to Mill Booking team.
  • Oversee booking management by Mill booking team as per RFQ allocation reporting.
  • Ensure Mill booking team allocate orders as per RFQ allocations to secure carrier space first before exploring Peak Season Surcharge/premium/General Rate Increase /Rate Restoration (additional surcharges imposed by carrier) for additional space.
  • Ensure Mill booking team have premium approvals record from customer before shipment booking completed and barge out.
  • Record keeping of premium approvals from customers to Mill booking team for future Billing/Finance reference.
  • Manage freight spend report weekly basis to check expenditure for RFQ vs premium to share with customers and management.
  • Act as backup for Booking team lead during his absence in leading Mill booking team daily calls and weekly calls on booking status updates to customer.
  • Work hand in hand with Booking team lead to ensure booking that unable to close within 48hrs get escalated to carriers for closure.
  • Mill visit at Indonesia quarterly basis to engage Mill booking team and build relationship with the team and customers.
  • Join Monthly Business Review / Quarterly Carrier Review in Singapore.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by management.
We are expecting the incumbent to meet these requirements:
  • Min. 2 years of working experience in Freight Forwarding industry especially in booking, procurement functions with carriers.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in any discipline.
  • Strong analytical skills and attentive to details.
  • Excellent communication skills, outgoing.
  • Proactive in communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent mathematical skills
  • Proactive in problem solving
  • The incumbent needs to be well-verse in INCOTERMS, able to recognize rules which define the responsibilities of sellers and buyers.
  • Excellent reading and writing skills in Bahasa Malaysia & English
  • Strong knowledge in using Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
  • This position is located in USJ, Selangor.
