Job Description

The Facilities Engineer will be responsible to manage all building facilities, including civil, mechanical, and electrical systems. This person will need to lead a group of technicians on periodic & preventive maintenance activities, manage vendors, and maintain and prepare documentation as required.

• Responsible with the facilities management of building including civil, mechanical and electrical system.
• Schedule periodic and preventive maintenance, conduct emergency troubleshooting and ensure all the critical spares are readily available.
• Vendor Management: Liaise with local & foreign vendors. Coordinating and overseeing contractors performing maintenance/upgrading activates.
• To supervise a group of technicians to support facilities, utilities and repair in an excellence manner in meeting zero interrupt and un-schedule breakdown to production.
• Maintain records, prepares reports, and compose correspondence relative to the work and serve as liaison to operation, identifying and resolving current and potential maintenance issues.
• Communicates with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies to ensure proper permitting and regulatory compliance (inclusive but not limited to DOE/DOSH/Suruhanjaya Tenaga, BOMBA, MBJB, TNB and etc.)
• To coordinate and ensure periodic inspection on all HT transformers, electrical switchboards, electrical distribution panels & electrical system etc
• Comply with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and RBA and other requirements.
• Responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operations of the plant utilities & facilities effectively and efficiently with minimal downtime.
• Plan, implement, evaluate preventive maintenance program to ensure facility equipment (Air-conditioning, Air Compressor, Passenger Lift, Electric Hoist, Fire-Fighting System, Water Pump system, PABX system, Lightning Protection system, Boiler, Chiller, Cooling Tower, Humidity Control Unit), Waste Disposal, Building Maintenance are properly maintained, meet service quality and effectiveness
• Maintain all LV and HT (up to 11kV) electrical installations in good condition and complied to statutory requirement of Energy Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia).
• Carry out switching work and commencing work and Switch ON and Switch OFF the electrical equipment, system and machinery as required to be carried out by competent persons as per described in the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and the Electricity Regulations 1994
• Lead and supervise the preparation of Certification of Fitness (CF) by DOSH for any Steam Boilers (PMD), Hoisting Equipment (PMA), Lifting Equipment (PMA) - Pressure vessel (PMT), liaises with Safety & Health Officer (SHO)
• Lead and supervise the preparation of Bomba Certification and liaise with competent appointed contractor and SHO
• Perform any other works or responsibilities assigned by the Manager related to Facilities/Utilities engineering & maintenance

• Possess Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Must be a hand on person
• Good technical skill & communication skill
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Knowledge of Malaysia occupational health and safety requirements (OSHA), critical facilities and vendor management are also required for this role.
• If you have an understanding of basic technical aspects of property (Air-conditioning, Chiller system, Fire Protection system, Mechanical & Electrical system, BMS system) would be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working in Facilities Engineering department or equivalent.
• Experience in maintaining, trouble shoot HVAC and factory mechanical system.
• A certified REEM by Suruhanjaya Tenaga is an added advantage.
• Good analytical, planning and organizational skills.
• Good interpersonal, communication, teamwork and continuous improvement skills.
• Self-motivated
