Your Role at Cabot

Manages manufacturing facility, typically made up of three or less production units with 100 or less employees.

Products manufactured are part of Cabot\'s portfolio of existing Engineered Elastomer Composites (E2C) products and also includes E2C products and processes which are new and under development and generally focuses on one line of business. Manages production of established products, provides site oversite of new product and process trials, represents E2C manufacturing at the business leadership level and serves as the senior representative of Cabot in Malaysia, building and maintaining relationships with local external stakeholders to advance all of Cabot\xe2\x80\x99s objectives as needed in Malaysia.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Through ensuring safe production of products that meet customers\xe2\x80\x99 needs for quality and quantity and fits the business commitments on delivery timing. Facility generally comprises of three or less production units; products manufactured are part of Cabot\'s portfolio of existing E2C products and also includes E2C products and processes which are new and under development.; chemical processes can be of medium complexity and are often new to both Cabot and the world.
• Managing activities of plant\xe2\x80\x99s cross-functional staff and ensures compliance with all company and external standards/regulations for Manufacturing, Sales, SH&E, Finance, Quality, HR, and Community Affairs.
• By developing a culture where all employees pursue continuous improvement. Ensures improvement of process capability / reliability, resulting in less process variability and reduction in generation of off-quality material. Ensures safe, reliable and cost-effective manufacturing of standard recipe products. Ensures that the appropriate management of change process is followed for recipe modification. Effectively manages local measurement capability, resulting in desired levels of measurement error for expected testing of Cabot products.
• Demonstrating commitment to effective Human Resource processes and effectively promotes the necessity of excellence in these activities throughout the site.
• By establishing and implements local initiatives that enhance effective utilization of plant assets through prudent management of fixed and variable costs. Ensures long-term integrity and fit for purpose of all facility assets. Efficiently manages capital budget through use of the capital management system.
• Planning and monitoring departmental budgets and expenditures to meet financial cost targets and objectives established through formal planning processes
• Leading community outreach that includes development, implementation, and participation in a facility plan consistent with our neighbor\xe2\x80\x99s choice of philosophy. Supports efforts to implement and maintain the required system.
• Effectively practices Performance Based Management by coaching and developing employees, direct as well as matrix reports, and assuring effective alignment with the matrix functions
• Developing an understanding of Cabot\xe2\x80\x99s manufacturing systems and processes and leads the adaptation and adoption of these methods into E2C operations
• By serving as the senior representative of Cabot in Malaysia, building and maintaining relationships with local external stakeholders to advance all of Cabot\xe2\x80\x99s objectives as needed in the country

• Your experience in managing a team of direct reports.
• Your proven track record of managing disciplined adherence to critical processes combined with experience applying Continuous Improvement processes & techniques in manufacturing and especially in safety related matters.
• Your experience in managing a set of annual business metrics (be it annual budget and/or physical/manufacturing operations).
• Ability to provide oversight and guidance to staff / employee through your leadership skills to motivate and lead cross-functional employees.
• Ability to develop, maintain and influence external, government and community stakeholders to advance Cabot\xe2\x80\x99s objectives.
