Job Description

We are seeking a creative, fashion designer to join our growing team. In this position, you will design, produce, and present new fashion apparel that is on-trend, while meeting with key suppliers, building relationships with manufacturers and leading a team to create a finished product. Job Responsibilities Manage & develop team Producing concepts Making sketches by hand or on the computer Developing patterns. Confer with sales and management executives or with clients in order to discuss design ideas. Overseeing production Analysing trends in fabrics, colours and shapes. Determine prices for styles. Identify target markets for designs, looking at factors such as age, gender, and socioeconomic status. Research the styles and periods of clothing needed for productions. Test fabrics or oversee testing so that garment care labels can be created. Examine sample garments on and off models; then modify designs to achieve desired effects. Select materials and production techniques to be used for products. Sketch rough and detailed drawings of apparel or accessories, and write specifications such as colour schemes, construction, material types, and accessory requirements. Collaborate with other designers to coordinate special products and designs. Consult directors and other production staff in order to develop design concepts and plan productions. Qualifications Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in design or fine arts, or college degree in fashion design or related field. 2+ years design experience. Availability to travel for research and product development. Ability to do sketches by hand. Excellent design and conceptual skills. Understand the modest wear to suit the Malaysian & Muslim culture. Excellent sense of style and colour. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to meet multiple deadlines.
