About the role
As a Finance and Accounting Team Lead, you will be responsible for the completion of financial activities, complying with relevant legislation and accounting standards and for the effective supervision and leadership of direct reports as well as the day-to-day activities of the team.
Main Responsibilities
Oversee the AR, invoicing & collection activities
Oversee the AP, trade and commissions payable activities
Prepare and monitor cashflow, identifying areas for improvement
Prepare monthly accounts closing including reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
Prepare financial reports and forecasts for future business growth including budgets, income statements, balance sheets, tax returns and reports for Government regulatory bodies and financial management reports
Ensure revenue and expenses are accurately recorded
Establish and define the financial closing schedule
Perform review of financial master data maintenance performance
Review period-close reports and ensure readiness for financial close
Perform monthly review of balance sheet reconciliations and address issues in a timely manner
Prepare and verify journal entries as appropriate
Manage the audit, tax and statutory reporting requirements
Ensure that team members and systems are optimised and leveraged to eliminate inefficiencies
Ensure accurate records are kept and in compliance with accounting standards
Ensure compliance with all financial and legal requirements, responsibilities, and obligations
Manage all accounting procedures and systems used by the organisation
Responsible for the preparation and processing of payroll and maintaining employee database for payroll purposes
Support finance projects as and when required
