Job Description

UMAI is a software provider that helps restaurants to save time and increase revenues by automating manual tasks, minimizing last-minute cancellations, upsell customers more effectively and provide more personalized service.

The team has extensive experience in building internet companies and has been part of building some of the largest e-commerce ventures in the Asia Pacific Region. Founded by the former MD of Foodpanda SG the largest food delivery service in Singapore, and a member of the founding-team of Nova Founders Capital, a fintech focused Venture Capital firm based out of London & Hong Kong.

We are looking for someone who has a \xe2\x80\x9chustle\xe2\x80\x9d attitude, who is resourceful, and is comfortable with ambiguity and challenges.

Tasks

The Role:

• Prepare, examine, assess accuracy, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports (SST, Monthly Financial Performance).
• Develop a system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
• Responsible for cost controlling, cash management and the monitoring as well as the optimization of KPIs (Budget & Billing).
• Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition to internal and external stakeholders.
• To develop, implement and update Accounting Policies and Procedures, including the Internal Control or Standard Operation.
• Liaison with auditor and tax agent for effective audit and tax planning functions.
• Manage a centralized finance team.
• Responsible for documentation of accounting records, filings, document compilation and submission.
• Perform any ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities which may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements

Skills, Requirements, Qualifications:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Finance / Accounting or related field.
• Professional qualifications i.e. ACCA/CPA/MIA/ICAEW & etc.
• At least 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Finance, candidates with experience with Big 4 Accounting Firms will be preferred.
• Well versed in Microsoft Excel for financial reporting purposes.
• Able to multitask, independent, and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Able to start immediately or within short notice.
• Profound knowledge of Malaysian and Singapore local law (payroll, taxation, business legal obligations etc.).
• Financial management experience in accounting, the creation and management of budgets and implementation of financial control and structures.
