Role Summary

The Financial Controller oversees the company's overall financial health, ensuring sound financial management, compliance, and strategic decision-making support. This role provides leadership to the finance and accounts team while driving efficiency, accuracy, and financial governance across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

A. Financial Management & Reporting

Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reports with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Provide timely financial analysis and insights to support strategic planning and decision-making. Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.

B. Budgeting & Forecasting

Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis with corrective recommendations. Work closely with department heads to align financial plans with operational goals. Assess financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.

C. Internal Controls & Compliance

Establish, review, and strengthen internal financial controls. Ensure compliance with tax laws, audit requirements, and statutory obligations Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies.

D. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

Oversee cash flow planning and liquidity management. Manage banking relationships and optimize financing arrangements. Approve major financial transactions and ensure proper authorization procedures are in place.

E. Leadership & Team Management

Supervise and mentor the Accounts Manager and team. Develop team capabilities through training and performance management. Drive process improvements and automation within the finance function.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred. Minimum

8-10 years

of accounting and finance experience, with at least

3 years in a managerial or controller role

. Strong knowledge of

Malaysian accounting standards, tax laws, and audit practices

. Proven experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and cash flow management. Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SQL, Xero, or ERP systems) and MS Office.

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
