POSITION TITLE: General Ledger Accountant

CONTRACT DURATION: 6 Months

SALARY: RM3,500 - RM5,000

WORK LOCATION: Persiaran Lagoon, Bandar Sunway. 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor.

WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday, 07:00AM - 04:00PM

JOB DESCRIPTION

PURPOSE:

  • Provide general ledger transactional processing support to delivery general ledger, treasury, bank reconciliation, receipt processing and bank journals to both APAC and North America in accordance with company policies, processes, work procedure, legal and statutory requirements
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Work in accordance with company\'s values and demonstrate commitment, active involvement and leadership regarding safety, sustainability, client, people and financial accountabilities
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Regularly communicate with key customers to understand their requirements and schedule work to meet requirements of the region
  • Maintain good working relationship with the finance team by ensuring accuracy for each transactions
  • Preparation of Balance Sheet Reconciliation for each assigned General Ledger account in BlackLine
  • Ensure cash receipt summary are sent to customer on a daily basis
  • Complete general administration and month end tasks as required
  • Ensure all queries are attended on daily basis and closed on timely basis
  • Ensure that control checking is being perform on a daily basis
  • Correctly input and gain approval for banking journals entered into Oracle
  • Ensure bank reconciliations are reconciled on daily basis. Reconciling items identified are followed up with relevant parties on timely manner.
  • Ensure applications of receipts are done on daily basis and any discrepancy noted are followed up with the Account Receivables Analyst for North America region based in Vancouver and Kuala Lumpur
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing information requested
  • Answer enquiries and provide advice to external and internal clients and suppliers regarding Accounting practices and procedures in order to achieve effective client relationships
  • Answer enquiries and provide advice to the finance team regarding transactions posted in Oracle
  • Assist in the development of effective financial systems and processes by providing ongoing development of financial processes as the company expands and changes
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Degree in Accounting/Business Studies or other professional Accounting Qualifications are encouraged to apply
  • Preferably 2-3 years experience in General Ledger and Bank Reconciliation
  • Demonstrated understanding of local taxation requirements and possess basic accounting skill
  • Experienced in Oracle software is preferred
  • Previous experience handling full set accounts and preparing Management Accounts is preferred
  • Experienced in preparing Annual Financial Statements will be an added advantage
  • High level of attention to detail and good time management
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
