Job Summary:


We are looking for an energetic and skilled General Ledger Manager to establish and lead a new General Ledger operation within our Shared Services Finance team. This position will serve as a key extension of our global GL accounting functions, driving efforts to standardize and centralize GL processes. The role is essential in designing and implementing efficient GL workflows, building a capable team, and ensuring precise and timely financial reporting organization-wide. The successful candidate will combine strategic foresight with operational expertise and a hands-on leadership style to develop scalable and compliant GL operations.

Job Responsibilities:



Team Development & Leadership

Design and implement the structure and operational framework for the newly formed General Ledger team. Lead hiring, onboarding, and training initiatives for GL staff. Cultivate a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and ongoing improvement.

Process Design & Standardization

Develop and enforce standardized GL policies, procedures, and controls in collaboration with Corporate and regional accounting leaders. Define and document workflows for journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate GL processes with upstream and downstream finance functions. Promote harmonization and simplification of GL activities across various entities. Execute ad hoc tasks as required.

Transition & Change Management

Lead the comprehensive transition of GL activities into the shared services center. Create and implement detailed transition plans covering timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies. Coordinate with regional stakeholders for smooth knowledge transfer and operational continuity.

Operational Excellence

Supervise daily GL operations and ensure timely, accurate completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Guarantee adherence to accounting standards such as IFRS/GAAP and internal policies. Drive automation efforts and system enhancements to boost efficiency and data integrity.

Governance & Control Compliance

Establish robust internal controls in alignment with SOX and risk management frameworks. Support both internal and external audits, ensuring preparedness and responsiveness. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).

Stakeholder Collaboration

Act as a strategic partner to Corporate and Regional finance teams. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on GL analytics and trends. Serve as the subject matter expert for General Ledger-related matters enterprise-wide.

Job Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are preferred. 7-10 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or auditing, with a minimum of 3 years in managerial roles. Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS/MFRS, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards. Experience working with or within U.S. public companies. Proficient in ERP and accounting software such as SAP or Oracle. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and to drive change across teams and functions.

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM13,000.00 per month
