Our Client Our client , has been established to construct, develop and operate a world-class greenfield manganese and ferroalloy smelter in the Samalaju Industrial Park, Sarawak, Malaysia Our client. is a subsidiary of an international company and is an independent, internationally diversified minerals group with its primary focus on expanding its fully integrated manganese business. Its international operations currently comprise a successful Singapore based metals marketing business supported by a manganese mine in Australia and a ferroalloy processing facility in China. Responsibilities This is a strategic leadership role within our client\'s organization Executes cross functional initiatives to strengthen commercial planning, procurement, warehouse operations; Considers internal and external factors which affect supply chains to formulate inventory and stocking strategies which optimise profitability and cash flow; Establishes and executes data driven processes and data driven analysis in commercial decisions and problem solving; Directs initiatives to develop sustainable supply chains to align with strategic plans; Reviews materials and parts consumption and provides insight into supply trends; Collaborates across strategic partnerships to develop markets for by products; Establishes and executes robust cross functional processes that govern the effective drafting, negotiation, tenders, award and administration of contracts (buying and selling of materials, procurement of services, and intragroup); Reviews commercial risks and executes strategies to secure assets, minimise liabilities and protect cash flow; Requirements Degree in Banking, Economics, Accounting/Finance or related discipline; Strong accounting/financial analytical, business writing /presentation skills and corporate banking; Minimum of ten years progressive experience in commercial procurement and operational management (\'commercial\' is defined as strategy, sales, marketing, pricing and/or business development and \'operational\' is defined as manufacturing, plant management, supply chain), preferably within an export based medium to large sized enterprise. Previous experience with bonded warehouse is a must. Must have relevant experience from a ferry/steel or minerals industry. previous experience in developing strategy with procuring raw materials like silica, iron ore, pet coke and manufacturing equipment is must Must be able to communicate effectively in English (both oral and written communication. Ability to communicate in Mandarin Preferably having prior experience in handling annual purchasing cost of above USD 5 million; Analytical thinker to ensure understanding and interpretation of business revenues, profit, and general performance trends; Sales experience with a tenacity to create new markets; Demonstrated success in developing, implementing, and executing strategic business plans; Able to articulate vision and strategy; Forward thinking, while equally operationally engaged in a manner that supports the team to accomplish its goals and develop the next generation of leaders.
